How to Use the Quote Generator

Turn your cubic yard estimates into professional price quotes for your clients

Overview

The Quote Generator transforms your cubic yard estimates into professional price quotes. Set up your base rates, material multipliers, and markup once, then generate quotes for any calculation with a single click.

Key Features:

  • Customizable base rates and minimum charges
  • Material-specific pricing multipliers
  • Optional labor charges
  • Markup percentage for profit margins
  • Professional quotes included in PDF reports

Setting Up Your Pricing Profile

Before generating quotes, you need to configure your pricing profile. Go to Account → Quote Settings to set up your rates.

Base Rate per Cubic Yard

Your standard rate charged for each cubic yard of debris. This is the foundation of all your quotes.

Minimum Charge

Set a floor price for small jobs. Even if a calculation is less than 1 cubic yard, you can ensure a minimum quote amount.

Material Multipliers

Different materials require different pricing. Add multipliers for specific material types:

  • • Concrete/Brick: 1.5x (heavier, harder to haul)
  • • Hazmat/Paint: 2.0x (special disposal required)
  • • Green waste: 0.8x (lighter, easier disposal)

Markup Percentage

Add a profit margin to your quotes. A 15% markup means a $100 base quote becomes $115.

Generating a Quote

Once your pricing profile is set up, generating quotes is simple:

  1. Navigate to any completed calculation

Open a calculation from your dashboard that has a cubic yard estimate.

  2. Go to the Quote tab

Click the "Quote" tab to see the quote generator interface.

  3. Select material type (optional)

If you've set up material multipliers, select the appropriate type to adjust pricing.

  4. Toggle labor inclusion

Add labor charges if your rate is configured separately from hauling.

  5. Review the breakdown and save

Check the line items, price range, and total before saving the quote.

Tip:

You can regenerate quotes with different options without affecting your saved quote until you explicitly save again.

Understanding the Price Range

Quotes include a price range based on the AI's confidence level in the volume estimate. This helps you communicate uncertainty to clients while still providing useful pricing.

Price Range = Base Price × (1 ± Confidence Factor)

Higher confidence = narrower range

ConfidenceRangeExample ($500 base)
90%+±2.5%$487 - $512
80%±5%$475 - $525
70%±7.5%$462 - $537
60%±10%$450 - $550

Sharing Quotes

Quotes are designed to be easily shared with your clients:

PDF Reports

When you save a quote, it's automatically included in the calculation's PDF report with a full breakdown, your terms, and a disclaimer.

Share Links

Create a shareable link to give clients direct access to the estimate and quote without needing an account.

Tips for Accurate Quotes

  • 1

    Take quality photos

Better photos lead to higher AI confidence, which means tighter price ranges. Include reference objects for scale.

  • 2

    Update your rates regularly

Fuel costs and disposal fees change. Keep your base rate current to maintain profitability.

  • 3

    Use appropriate material multipliers

Heavy materials like concrete cost more to haul. Set multipliers that reflect your actual costs.

  • 4

    Verify before committing

Quotes are estimates. The disclaimer reminds clients that final pricing should be confirmed after an on-site assessment.
